Lark’s Ebbe

Description

Lark’s Ebbe is a beautiful dahlia prized for its soft peach-toned blooms and excellent performance in bouquets. The plants are relatively compact, making them well suited for garden borders, yet they produce an impressive number of flowers throughout the season. Long, sturdy stems make this variety especially useful for cutting and arranging.

Harvest & Vase Life

Dahlias do not continue to open much once cut, so harvesting at the right stage is important. Cut flowers when they are about three-quarters open, but before they become overly mature.

Check the back of the bloom — petals should feel firm and well hydrated, rather than papery or dry.

After harvesting, place stems directly into water with floral hydrator. Another option is to sear the stem ends by dipping them in hot water (about 160–180°F, just below boiling) and allowing them to cool in the water for about an hour.

With proper care, blooms typically have a vase life of around 5 days.
